My first impression is If there is good data, it could be a good site.  Objective.

When you moved to a neighborhood in Central Ohio or elsewhere how did you determine how safe a neighborhood is?

• Ask your real estate agent
• Ask the local police
• Ask friends or co-workers?
• Other?

I’ve been playing with the site a little bit for Central Ohio neighborhoods.  Thanks to Lanette Branch a Re/Max agent from Bel Air Maryland for mentioning the site via ActiveRain (a national real estate network.)

Edit: I wondered how it compared to whatever was on the Columbus Police Department website currently, had not looked for awhile.  Columbus Police Department uses this site!!!  Columbus Police Department the Crime map is CrimeReports.com  third link from the top Columbus Police Crime Map

Are the suburbs of Columbus providing the site with statistics?  I was looking at one suburb this AM and was amazed all the crime was in the surrounding city of Columbus neighborhoods.  Crime free? Or not reporting to this site… I think just not reporting to this site.
