Columbus Ohio Holidays

OSU eCardColumbus gets some special holidays… Yeah Columbus Day is a bigger deal..when your name is Columbus… We have Columbus Days… but the real extra local holidays have to do with Buckeye football.  The Friday before the Michigan Game is a tailgate party.  The third Saturday in November has a holiday feel to it.

You don’t have to be all that big a fan, it’s still a holiday…

I lived in Green Bay a couple of times.  There’s another town that takes football serious.

After Christmas, after New Years Eve and New Years Day… in Columbus we usually have another holiday after the first of the year when the Buckeye’s go to a bowl game…

Zoos have come a long way since I was a kid. I remember the Pittsburgh zoo being just a bunch of animals in cages. Over the years I’ve been to zoos in Cincinnati, Los Angeles, San Antonio and of course Columbus. It seems most now do eveything they can to take care of the animals. I’m with Jack Hanna on this. Today’s zoos are educational. They get people interested in preserving wildlife.

Columbus is fortunate to have such a high quality zoo.

you shouldn’t have put the . at the end of the link… it broke the link which is ok as your name is the link to your blog and running around sprinking a url on blogs is kinda like link spam… or I guess it is link spam.

I will check out your blog. Thanks
