The Dublin Irish Festival almost snuck by me this year…  August 1 to 3, 2008.  Next year starts on July 31, 2009.

Church (go Sunday for church and you get in for free)… Irish breakfast, lots of music including Gaelic Storm, Jen’s Ice Cream and lots of sunshine were the highlights of the day.

It seems like summer just started, because it did.

I hated “back to school” as a kid.  Even though I kinda liked school I hated summer being over… Stores are having back to school sales…

Columbus K9s & the 4th

I go to Red, White & Boom most years… I have never taken my dog. I am surprised when I see dogs and babies there… I don’t really know much about babies… but I would think they would startle at loud noises. I know dogs do.

From Channel 4 tips about dogs and the upcoming holiday.

Bike To Work Day - Columbus

bike riderIt’s Bike to Work Day in Columbus …

and elsewhere.

Excuses, excuses, excuses…

I still don’t have a helmet.

It’s raining.

The route to my office includes going through the intersection of 270 and route 23.

Alternate route… High Street, to E. Wilson Bridge to Worthington Galena Rd.

All week I’ve been noticing that Worthington-Galena does not have a bike lane… and it is so narrow and the shoulder is not paved….

Last night coming home from the office, in the dark in the rain, in the car, seeing a biker make the turn from E. Wilson Bridge Rd. to north on Worthington - Galena Rd. scared me.

Enough excuses? No? One more… I don’t know the combination on my bike lock… I wonder where I wrote that down.

Columbus Clippers

As an added bonus… there’s a “Victory Bell Giveaway (Giveaway to the first 2,000 fans)”  the bell is cute…

Last year on ColumbusBestBlog.com “By George, it’s a new ballgame in Columbus” said:

According to an editorial review for Columbus Clippers written by John Oklok on City Search The Columbus Clipper is “One of Columbus’ Best”

“Nominated for Best Family Fun because a quality attraction that’s suitable for all ages and easily affordable covers all the bases.”

And the really good news from Oklok’s review?

Name That Missing Tune

“Cowbell activity has declined. The “Ring Your Bell” song, which used to play nearly every half-inning, is now seldom heard”
