The calendar is available at some Central Ohio Complete Petmart locations, or at the Shelter during events including their Mingle With Our Mutts, which is the first or third Sunday of each month from noon to 2:00 P.M.

The Franklin County Dog Shelter is located at 1731 Alum Creek Drive,  Columbus, OH 43207.

I have links to the Franklin County Dog Shelter as well as other local animal rescue groups on my website, MaureenMcCabe.com on the Columbus K9 page.

Westerville Kids?

leaves

Looking at it the blog at first I thought it was for kids.  But Earth & Sky for kids is by kids isn’t it?

“Here are Earth & Sky Young Producers Nichole McClintock and Ashley Haimerl of Heritage Middle School, Westerville, Ohio.”

It says “Young Producers… but I had a hard time believing it when I read it.  I had to listen to their voices.

It is really pretty amazing how many trees still have leaves now.  We went for a hike in High Banks Metro Park two weeks ago.  I thought all the leaves would be gone by now.. or more bare.

Here’s a link to a video in case you have not heard about the Columbus twins who appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show recently.  The eight year old twin inventors Justin and Jared Serovich  invented  “Wedgie Proof Underwear.“

The eight year old inventors go to Gables Elementary School on Columbus Northwest side.

Clintonville the debate rages on…

Clinonville Map

There’d be fighting in the pubs and bars of the Clintonville area if there were pubs and bars in Clintonville or Beechwold… brawls over where are the lines of demarcation between Clintonville and Beechwold. Or maybe not. Maybe after a few beers or some wine, it would make it seem more like “Clintonville? Beechwold? Nice area! Who cares?”

Clintonville is dry! Drier than Westerville… now. Maybe what the Official Clintonville website calls “The Clintonville Beechwold Debate” would be easier, more mellow in a pub, than in all the coffee shops that are springing up along High Street.

If ambiguity bothers you, Clintonville and Beechwold may not be the area for you to live. There are not hard and fast borders.

As the Clintonville.org site says:

“It all depends on who you ask - but the truthful answer remains the same. Neither “Clintonville” nor “Beechwold” ever existed as political or formally recognized entities. Thus any answer as to where the boundaries are between the two areas is an answer based on myth.”

The map above is what recent real estate listings said was Clintonville. The green dots are listings. And here’s what was listed as being in Beechwold.  Overlap?  You betcha!
